Q&A with Red Cliffs Mall

Tell me a little bit about what makes Red Cliffs special?

We are Southern Utah’s premier shopping center. We have retailers like Dillard’s, JCP, Barnes and Noble, H&M, Victoria’s Secret and Buckle just to name a few. With over 40 stores throughout the property we have something for everyone.

We opened our doors in 1990 and there have been many changes over the years as the area has grown. The biggest change came in March of 2017 with us being purchased by a new owner and a new transformation and mindset for Red Cliffs began. We added 20,000 square feet of space and did a complete interior remodel making the mall brighter and more welcoming.

Red Cliffs Mall is Southern Utah, one of our core values is community. We work to create partnerships that benefit the community, retailers and owner.

As shopping moves online how is Red Cliffs adapting to the changing market?

The fear of online retail doesn’t really bother me that much. U.S. online retail spending is still only 10 percent of the market. Retailers have to do more and do it better than the competition. You need to have good products, good service and have a presence both with a store and online.

Today’s centers are adapting with the retailer to the changing environment, and the ownership at Red Cliffs is making the necessary commitments to make sure we are set for another 20 years.

What are some of the ways Red Cliffs’ management is changing the shopping experience?

Customers want to do more than shop. They want things to do and food to eat in a fun, comfortable and safe place. We are working towards making Red Cliffs a community center that has something for everyone: where people come to socialize, be entertained, eat and shop.

The new owners are dedicated to a complete redevelopment of the center – adding multiple food options like the new Hash House and event spaces for community activities.

Sounds like a lot is happening. How can people keep up with all the events, sales and news?

It’s really simple. You can follow us on our webpage: RedCliffsMall.com, on our Facebook page and on Instagram. The webpage has tabs making it easy to see specials, upcoming events, and the news from Red Cliffs. You can become a member of our Shopping Club where you will receive exciting emails which will keep you up to date on everything Red Cliffs.

We regularly give away all kinds of prizes and gift cards on our Facebook and Instagram accounts. This is also the first place we go to announce changes and upcoming tenant openings – there is even a place to look for a job at the mall.

Last question: Why do you think Red Cliffs was named the best mall in Southern Utah?

Red Cliffs Mall is hands down the premier shopping center north of Las Vegas and south of the Wasatch Front. We are a community center. We strive to create partnerships that benefit Southern Utah. We are the best because we care. Red Cliffs is dedicated to providing the best experience for our guests. We want them to walk into a clean, bright and safe center every time they come through the doors.

I am excited for the future of Red Cliffs Mall and am excited to help guide this center as it grows with the surrounding area. Red Cliffs’ owners and retailers are excited about the amazing growth and development of our corner of Southern Utah.
